A legacy of craftsmanship: the Dartmouth Building Supply story
Craftsmanship has always come first for us. Our story began with founder Joe Delgado, a drywall contractor who understood that great work depends on reliable access to quality materials. That practical insight continues to shape everything we do today.
Over time, that vision has grown into a premier operation anchored by a 54,000-square-foot millwork facility, where skilled craftspeople use specialized equipment to produce custom mouldings, pre-assembled staircases, and detailed replication work, including historically accurate profiles.
Supporting that craftsmanship is a modern, well-coordinated operation. State-of-the-art dispatch systems manage order tracking from our warehouse to jobsites across Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, backed by a dedicated delivery fleet. The result is custom capability paired with dependable service, helping professionals deliver work that stands out.

At Dartmouth Building Supply, innovation has always been about serving real projects better. Great builds start with great planning, and since 1997, the DBS Design Center has helped lead that process. Launched as the region’s first kitchen design concept store, it introduced a new way for homeowners, builders, contractors and architects to explore ideas beyond a catalog page.
Inside the Design Center, cabinetry, countertops, and flooring are displayed in real-life settings that make possibilities easier to see and decisions easier to make. Paired with expert design services, the space supports clear planning and confident choices. The result is a creative environment built to simplify complexity and bring every room to life.
